The Pyramids
Made from the resin left over from a collector's own painting, and given to them.
Pouring resin leaves a remainder. It carries the exact colours of the painting it came from — the same blues, the same metallics, the same accident of pigment that will never occur again — and once it starts to set there is nothing to do but use it.
So it gets cast into a solid pyramid. The layers you can see through the side are the strata of a single pour, in the order they were mixed. Each one is a cross-section of one painting and no other.
These are not for sale and never have been. They go to collectors who have taken three or more works, made from the leftovers of their own paintings. If you own one, no one else has anything like it.
